BIG-CHESTED GIRLS, have you heard? It’s time to get rid of your boobs.
Vogue has declared that cleavage is ‘dead’, citing the recent trend for high-necked dresses and blouses and the declining popularity of the push-up bra as the cause.
“The tits will not be out for the lads. Or anyone else, for that matter,” writes Kathleen Baird-Murray for the magazine.
Rejecting the stereotypes of gender has been brought sharply into focus, with the days of women as eye-candy, their sexuality positively smouldering rather than subtly played out, officially over.
Erm, OK. But there’s just one problem: For women with big boobs, cleavage is kind of unavoidable.
As any gal over a D cup knows, looking ‘appropriate’ in certain tops and dresses can be challenging – and you can’t just pack your boobs away in the back of the wardrobe until they’re ‘on trend’ again.
So all the big-boobed women out there are having a nice little laugh for themselves at being decreed unfashionable:
Vogue, back in your box.
